It has been a blessing to teach 4th and 5th graders at Lietz Elementary. Working on the beautiful and cheery Lietz campus, where students have plenty of room to learn in a wide variety of classroom settings, has been a pleasure. This year we are located in room 8.
I was educated locally. For elementary through high school, my education took place in our neighboring Campbell Union School District. In college, I had the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development/Education from San Jose State University. SJSU is, also, where I completed my multiple subject teaching credential in 1992. Teaching has been a wonderful adventure! For me, it started with helping out in Sunday School as a teenager and has taken me to teaching experiences in the West Indies, private school settings, public school settings, teaching in the non profit sector and now I am in my 12th year at Lietz Elementary. It has truly been a happy trail!
In my free time, I like to hang out with my husband and children. My husband, Ron, is an engineer and avid kiteboarder. Our children, Anelise and Ethan, are both away at college this year. We miss them terribly but feel very proud of their love for learning and community. Along with a passion for equestrian activities, I enjoy directing a non-profit educational/charitable organization called Pony People. Pony People provides outdoor and equestrian activities for special needs and foster care children in the Santa Cruz mountains.
